New Food for an Old Holiday

To my mind, food tastes better outside. And the summer foods like ice cream and burgers are special treats that I don’t eat every day. We’ve put together some suggestions for foods that are easy, health-ish, and full of Indian flavors. There is something for everyone—a colorful cabbage and carrot slaw with popped mustard seeds.

Go Indian-American with Indian-spiced sloppy Joes, or make a juicy turkey burger infused with fresh herbs. Finish up with strawberry ice cream with rose water or my new, but already popular cardamom almond crunch cakes, or both.

I am especially excited to have an all-American cookout with turkey burgers and a vibrant slaw on the side.

Happy 4th of July eating!
